Ridley-Scott’s latest offering, Robin Hood grossed an impressive £5.8m in its first five days last week, beating their previous best, Gladiator which took just £3.6m in its opening weekend in 2000.
In the US, Robin Hood opened to an estimated $37.1m, beating Gladiator's $34.8m opening weekend and becoming the top ever opening for a medieval-themed picture. Exit polls state that 56% of its audience was male with 63% over 30 years old.
