The Piccadilly Cinema, based in Birmingham, is the latest independent cinema to join the DCM portfolio. It makes another great addition to DCM and helps us continue to grow our 80% market share.

Built on the site of the Picturdome (1913-1929), it first opened in May 1930 under the name of Piccadilly Super Cinema. It was designed by Harold Seymour Scott.

The Piccadilly suffered damage in the same Second World War bombing raid that destroyed the nearby Waldorf cinema.

The cinema closed in 1974, becoming a bingo club before briefly reopening as an Asian cinema, then changing back to a bingo club.

In 1995 the Piccadilly reopened with three screens showing Bollywood films and Hollywood blockbusters.
