Simon Rees Joins DCM

LONDON – Digital Cinema Media (DCM), the market leader in UK cinema advertising, today announces Simon Rees, as the new Managing Director. Rees will oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the business which now owns a significant share of the cinema advertising market through exhibitors including ODEON, Cineworld, Vue, Picturehouse, IMAX, and many Independent cinemas.

Rees, former chief executive of Avanti Screen-media Plc brings to his position more than 17 years of media planning and buying experience and 16 years of general management across a diverse range of media business.

Commenting on the appointment, Crispin Lilly vice-president of business affairs at Cineworld Cinemas, who stepped in to support the management team following Martin Bowley's departure in January, said: "I am delighted that Simon is joining the team. His background and commercial experience will further strengthen DCM's position as UK leader for strategic planning and implementation of all forms of cinema media."

Rees has held various senior positions, including as CEO at Mindshare and before that Carat where he was for ten years. More recently, Rees has taken on a number of executive and non-executive director roles at out-of-home screen media companies and digital content companies including Oil Studios, Avanti and DI5.
