This week sees the return of Mindshare’s annual Huddle event when the agency will host the media industry for a packed day full of seminars and workshops under the theme ‘The Journey to Post Human’.
As part of this year’s agenda, Digital Cinema Media (DCM) will hold a session on who or what the actors of the future will be.
During the session, DCM’s Head of Film, Tom Linay, will be chatting with Empire Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Terri White about whether we’ll still need actors in the future and what will be the nature of screen acting in the years to come.
The biggest film of 2016, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ featured a prominent character played by Peter Cushing, an actor who died in 1994. Many people were fooled by it too, believing the performance was delivered by an actor who is very much alive.
They will explore the advancements in technology through animation and motion capture that have allowed filmmakers to create digital characters that are arguably as convincing as the real thing.
DCM’s session will take place at 2pm on Thursday 9 November.
