This week we spoke to DCM’s Exhibition Consultant, David Prosser about all things film and cinema. Enjoy!

What are your three favourite cinemas?

Bristol Watershed, Newbury Corn Exchange and The Mac Birmingham.

What excites you most about the future of the cinema industry?

There are two aspects that provide the industry with huge potential. Firstly, the new digital age which provide such great flexibility in providing clients and agencies with so many strong options to consider. Secondly the entrepreneurship of cinema owners to adapt to their patrons’ needs.

What’s your favourite film of all time?

It has to be 2001 by Stanley Kubrick.

What film are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Mission Impossible 5.

What are the most iconic cinema ads and why?

One of my favourites is an old VW ad which had a VW car being driven over untouched snow arriving at a huge machine. The copy line was "Have you ever thought how the man who drives the snow plough gets to the snow plough".

Another great ad was for Benson and Hedges Cigarettes ads in the late 70s. Made by Collett Dickinson Pearce it created special cinema ads featuring the famous gold pack. I just really liked the ad but have to say that personally I've never smoked!!

What are the three things you most like doing in your free time?

  • Being with my wife and family, I have six children and six grandchildren.
  • Watching Hockey, my son Lewis is a professional hockey player playing for Wales and a top England Club.
  • Watching Cricket, Rugby and Golf.

Things you may not know, I was the youngest ever capped International Hockey player for Wales at 17. I captained the GB and Wales Hockey teams and achieved 87 International Caps. I was a professional cricketer for Surrey when I first left school.
