Ahead of its long awaited cinema release on Friday 10 February, The LEGO Batman Movie has been crowbarred into Channel 4’s TV programming schedule for a comical campaign that will see the Will Arnett-voiced character appear.

Featuring much of the same humour we’ve seen in the various trailers in which LEGO Batman commands attention with his amusing antics and monologue-style addresses to the camera, the TV interludes are due to air from today (Thursday 2 February) and run until Sunday with 18 animated intros created to occupy more than 40 ad breaks.

The first, seen below, sees the lively animated hero enter a Channel 4 recording studio to alert fans and viewers of the situation and that he’ll be taking over the broadcaster’s announcements until further notice.

The campaign continues the creative marketing approach that was taken in 2014, when Warner Bros. released The LEGO Movie, when the trailer for the film was aired across a full ad break.

Both campaigns highlight how TV and cinema can work seamlessly together to target both film lovers and cinemagoers across platforms. Last month, LEGO Batman joined Sky's tech team in a separate campaign.
