Popping the Question at The Regent Cinema

The Regent Cinema in Redcar was host to a very special event on Sunday afternoon. Four months ago a young gentleman approached the cinema as he wanted to propose to his girlfriend in one of their screens in the form of a fake movie trailer. He went to the great lengths of filming, editing and even having the proposal professionally mastered so the cinema could play it.

His girlfriend and her mum visited the cinema for a 3.45pm showing of Disney's Cinderella - unaware it was an elaborate ruse and the publicity had only been switched moments earlier. After 10 minutes of Digital Cinema Media's (DCM) normal film adverts and trailers, the 13 minute proposal feature started. After a recap of their life so far - a musical quartet who had been posing as customers grabbed their instruments and played covers of Stand By Me and A Thousand Years from 'Twilight' and our suitor descended down the stairs to one very shocked young lady with an engagement ring at the ready.

Given the effort that went into it there’s no surprise she said yes! Congratulations to Chris & Rosie - we hope they have many happy years ahead together.
