Last night, the 95th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and were broadcast across the world.

The big winner of the night was Everything Everywhere All At Once, which dominated the awards, winning seven Oscars including Best Picture. Its creators Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (collectively known as the Daniels) won the awards for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.

Michelle Yeoh won the Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role, the first Asian woman to be recognized for this accolade. Ke Huy Quan took the award for Actor in a Supporting Role. Their Oscar wins follow their Golden Globe Award wins this year for Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture, and Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

Jamie Lee Curtis was awarded Actress in a Supporting Role, her first Academy Award, and Everything Everywhere All At Once also picked up the award for Best Film Editing.

Another notable winner of the night was Brendan Fraser, who was awarded the Oscar for Actor in a Leading Role for his emotional leading performance in The Whale. After spending a decade away from the spotlight due to health and personal circumstances, this win is a welcome addition to his resurgence in film.

All Quiet on the Western Front, which dominated the BAFTAs this year, took four Academy Award wins, for International Feature Film, Cinematography, Music (Original Score) and Production Design.

The Academy Award for Animated Feature Film went to Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Short Film (Animated) was awarded to The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever took the Oscar for Costume Design, and The Whale took the award for Makeup and Hair Styling.

The Oscar for Sound was awarded to Top Gun: Maverick, and for Visual Effects, Avatar: The Way of Water received the Academy Award.

Women Talking was awarded the Oscar for Writing (Adapted Screenplay), a highly-contested category, which saw Sarah Polley win her first Academy Award.
