A Cine-Centenary at the Worthing Connaught

Congratulations to The Connaught in Worthing, who is kicking off a week of celebrations from Monday 28 July to mark the cinema's centenary.

The site originally opened on 31 July 1914 with 860 tip up seats, to be converted into a theatre for the local repertory company in 1935.

Film returned to The Connaught in 1986, when projection facilities were re-installed to create a multi-functional site with 506 seats.

Movies are also screened at the adjoining building, The Studio Cinema, previously known  as The Ritz. Digital 3D was installed there in July 2010 and the Studio has a capacity of 242 seats.

The Cine-Centenary runs from Monday 28 July until 3 August with some great historical movies on the programme including Citizen Kane, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Oliver!, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, ET, The Goonies, Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone, Psycho, The Shining, Pulp Fiction and 12 Angry Men.

All of us at DCM would like to wish everyone at The Connaught a big congratulations and hope the Cine-Centenary celebrations are a great success.
