The great, the talented and the beautiful of the world’s film industry descended on London’s Royal Opera House last Sunday for the British leg of awards season, the EE BAFTAs. You may have watched it on TV, along with 6.2 million other film fans. You may have been one of the lucky few in possession of a golden ticket to the night itself. BAFTA Senior Partnership Manager, Natalie Moss, however had an exclusive back-stage pass and gave DCM the low down on the evening from behind the scenes.
Well….what a weekend!
Sunday night can be summed up in one. A-LIST!
The evening kicked off in the style suites at The Savoy - a spectacular setting and wonderful team of stylists for whom nothing is too much trouble. 88RDR, Asprey, Charles Worthington, Escada, Hackett and Lancôme used their charm and talented professionals to make the BAFTA nominees and VIPS look suitably “red carpet ready”.
We can’t ignore the weather (“rain” doesn’t begin to cover it) but we didn't let it dampen our spirits. As ever, Audi and BA were on hand to transport out guests in style and comfort. The EE brand lit up the red carpet and once again, the Rising Star Award showcased some of the very best young talent and what a thrill to see a Brit collect the prestigious award.
Then, it was on to Asprey for what can only be described as a star-studded evening. We were thrilled with the turn out and what better place to showcase our 88 RDR Past Forward exhibition, than in the luxury of the Bond Street store.
The celebrations continued with guests raising a toast and what a choice they had, with our fantastic array of BAFTA partners including Taittinger, Villa Maria, Evian, Grolsch, all topped off with delicious treats from Hotel Chocolat and, of course, the BAFTA nominees.
The Disaronno after-party was once again the perfect way to end the night with music from The Noisettes and the talent left the evening with special nominee gift bags.
However it doesn’t end here. The winning films will be back on the big screen, as part of the Cineworld Winners Tour. Grab your copy of the Sunday Mail for free tickets.
Finally, we pass on our thanks to DCM and its exhibitor partners for spreading the BAFTA message far and wide in cinemas across the country.
