2012 could easily be described as a game changing year for cinema.

The year kicked off with huge hits such as Avengers Assemble, The Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises. More recently we have seen Skyfall smash box office records and move swiftly on its way to becoming the biggest film of all time in the UK. 2012 has also been a year for huge changes to the cinema industry and DCM has led the historic transformation into the digital world.

The switch over to digital operations in September means cinema can now offer advertisers agile booking possibilities, shorter lead times and greater flexibility and creativity to reach a highly engaged audience.

Which is why it is an exciting time to host Digital Cinema Media’s 'Introduction to Cinema' event.

Young aspiring talent from across London’s top media agencies including Carat, PHD, Mindshare and MediaCom, were invited to find out about the power of cinema advertising, audience insights and 360 cinema solutions. This free training presentation held twice a year in April and November, offers understanding on brand engagement, awareness and communication, ROI and multi-platform campaigns. A live brief section got the young media planners’ juices flowing and the day finished off with an exclusive look at 2013’s film slate by resident film specialist Tom Linay.

From cinema planning to a taste on project development, the morning was a success. Guests left feeling full of new insight as well as delicious breakfast pastries and mini smoked salmon bagels!
