October has a typically great mix of films for all audiences. There's the stand-out comic book film of 2019, which should deliver 11 16-34 TVRs. There's a lavish Disney fantasy adventure, two futuristic sci-fi films, and a charming animation perfectly timed for October half-term.

Joker

Avengers: Endgame delivered the record-breaking numbers but Joker is the stand-out comic book film of 2019. Jaoquin Phoenix's presence confirms that. Phoenix plays a failed stand-up comedian who is driven insane and becoms a psychopathic murderer. It looks like a Scorsese straight out of the 70s and De Niro in the supporting cast only adds to that.

Gemini Man

Ang Lee is one of the world's very best directors, whether he's directing heart-breaking romance (Brokeback Mountain) or ground-breaking spectacle (Life of Pi). His latest falls into the latter camp, as Will Smith plays an over-the-hill hitman who faces off against a younger clone of himself, also played by Smith.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Maleficent was a huge worldwide hit in 2014 and Angeline Jolie's performance was the standout. This year Jolie returns as the film explores the complex relationship between Maleficent and Aurora (Fanning) as they face new threats to the magical land of the Moors. It's Ocobter's big film for 16-34 women.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day are two of the greatest sci-fi films of all-time. The films that followed arent. This sequel follows on from the events of Judgement Day and Linda Hamilton returns for the first time since T2 as Sarah Connor, and she's gearing up with a team of agents who will fight against a new Terminator. Deadpool's Tim Miller directs. It sounds very promising and we're keeping our fingers crossed.
