"Boasting one of the most impressive cast lists of the festival, Sarah Polley’s adaptation of the story of a commune of women who banded together to fight back against the men who were sexually exploiting them shows how cinema can create amazing opportunities to provide voices to marginalised communities. Women Talking is a masterpiece in showing how to bring together incredible actresses all at different stages of their career. It’s hard to pick out one standout performance when all are fantastic. For a film tackling such a serious topic and essentially focusing on the sit-down meeting of the women to decide their fate, it offers numerous comedic moments and captures your interest throughout. Don’t be surprised to see this be a big nominee at next years OSCARs."

"Sarah Polley’s beautifully directed adaptation deals in important issues, asking big questions and holding a mirror up to society and does so in an incredibly gripping fashion. Stunning performances all round from the cast, with Rooney Mara and Sheila McCarthy standing out the most for me. I suspect several of the actresses will find their names cropping up on nomination lists across awards season."
