Since the trailer was finally revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July, excitement for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has been rapidly accelerating.

With a UK release date of 11 November, a week before the launch of the football world cup, this superhero movie sequel is set to be one of the biggest films of the year.

Prior to the trailer being released, fans were unsure of how the sequel would proceed after the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, who played the lead role of T'Challa. However, the trailer indicated that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be a dramatic, emotional and moving spectacle, paying tribute to the actor whilst expanding the world of Wakanda further.

The first Black Panther film took UK (and global) audiences by storm: it was the fourth most successful film of 2018, and the highest grossing solo-Avenger title. Achieving a huge 23.5 16-34 industry TVRs, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has some big shoes to fill.

However, with a spectacular cast, including Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright and Angela Bassett, and the new addition of Michaela Coel, alongside a fiercely dedicated fanbase, the sequel is set to reach even great heights, with an estimated 5.7 million industry admissions and 23 16-34 industry TVRs.

Audiences of the Marvel cinematic universe are often young, tech-savvy, and want to be the first to see the latest films, ensuring they don’t miss out on the conversations and hype around them. Marvel films often attract a larger male audience, with Avengers: Endgame achieving a staggering 44 16-34 men TVRs.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the opportunity of the year to target a huge 16-34 audience, who are guaranteed to show up for this long-awaited cinematic sequel.
