With Bleed for This out in cinemas today (2 December), the film's director, Ben Younger, gave an exclusive interview on the fascinating true story of boxer Vinny Pazienza and how he overcame the odds after a car accident changed his life.
The film shows how Pazienza shot to stardom after winning two world title fights before his world changed forever after the near-fatal crash left him with a severed spine. When doctors tell him he may never walk again, it's fuel for his fire and with the help of renowned trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart), Vinny becomes a legend when he not only walks again, but miraculously makes a return to the ring in a bid to reclaim his belt.
