Blu and co. shake their tail feathers to Box Office No.1

Fox’s latest family flick Rio flew straight into the UK top spot over the weekend grossing a total of £1.5m. The good weather did impact slightly on performance in the Box Office but with the weather forecast to cool down for the rest of the week, and with the kids off for the Easter holidays we are predicting an uplift next week.

Meanwhile sci- fi thriller Source Code is still fighting off stiff competition to maintain second place rank, closely followed by Limitless and last week’s chart topper Hop at number four.

In other news the US box office turned into a battle of the “Brands” as Hop (featuring the Easter Bunny, voiced by Russell Brand) prepared to defend its spot at the top of the charts from competition that included Arthur (also starring Russell Brand.) In the end Hop held on, earning a healthy $21.6m.
