The Weekend Round-up
Kung Fu Panda 3 held on to the top spot for a second week as it added £1.8m, bringing its total to £7.1m. It will need a strong Easter holiday period to overtake Kung Fu Panda 2’s final total of £17m.
10 Cloverfield Lane kicked off its run with £1.6m. It’s been described as a distant cousin to 2008’s Cloverfield, and it’s performance backs that up as that film opened with £3.5m.
London Has Fallen dropped to third but still added another £1.1m for a cume of £8.3m. It has far outperformed Olympus Has Fallen.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant continued its disappointing run, adding £771k for a new total of £3.2m. It’s going to fall well short of Insurgent’s final total of £8m.
Spooky horror, The Boy completed the top five, opening with a solid £726k.
Outside of the top five, Deadpool continued its remarkable run. It added £520k for a huge cume of £36.8m. It is now certain to overtake Iron Man 3 (£37m) to become the fifth biggest superhero film of all time in the UK, behind just The Dark Knight Rises, Avengers Assemble, The Dark Knight and Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
Overall the box office was down 33% from last weekend and down 32% from the same weekend last year when the top four films were Home, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Focus.
Next Weekend
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is out on Friday and is all set to be one of the biggest films of the year. The Dark Knight Rises grossed £56.3m, while Man Of Steel grossed £30m. This one will probably fall somewhere in between.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the sequel to the 2002 breakout hit, which grossed £13.6m in the UK.
The Buzz
Eddie The Eagle opens on Easter Monday and is shaping up to be one of the biggest British films of the year.
