December is always one of the busiest months of the year for cinema, and this year is looking no different. The month starts with a sequel to one of the biggest family films of recent years but it’s on the 18th that things get really exciting with three terrific films for differing audiences. One of Hollywood’s greatest filmmakers takes on a stone-cold classic musical, which is forecast to deliver 11 ABC1 women TVRs, a genius sci-fi world-builder takes on a revered sci-fi novel, while an all-time comedy legend returns.

Dune
