Last night saw the announcement of the latest winners of the prestigious D&AD Professional Awards Pencils, at a ceremony held at London’s Troxy.

Black Pencils are the highest accolade that can be awarded in the competition and five were handed out on the night.

Channel 4’s We’re the Superhumans, created by 4Creative and Blink Productions, won a slew of prizes and picked up two Black Pencils for the Paralympics campaign for Film Advertising and Direction for Film Advertising.

The Swedish Number, created by INGO Stockholm for The Swedish Tourist Association, gained a lot of traction at this year’s Festival and picked up a Black Pencil for Direct Innovation. The campaign saw a number created for phone boxes around the country that people from across the world could call. When random Swedes answered the phone, the conversations that followed were both amusing and informative told from the horse’s mouth.

Meet Graham also won big at this year’s Ceremony. The campaign, created by Clemender BBDO Melbourne, presented the only person designed to survive a car crash and the character was the most striking image to appear on the big screen at The Troxy, cleverly warning people about the risks of dangerous driving.

The final piece of Black Pencil-winning work came from Serviceplan Korea, for Dot Corporation. DOT. The first Braille Smartwatch aimed to help the 285 million blind and visually impaired people to tell the time in a practical and affordable way.
