Karen Stacey, CEO of Digital Cinema Media (DCM), was awarded Media Owner Leader of the year and Grand Prix: Media Leader of the Year at the 2023 Media Leaders Awards yesterday.
The awards ceremony took place in London on the afternoon of 26 April 2023.
“Karen is a true industry leader" said the Media Leaders Awards judges on her Grand Prix win. "Of course she leads DCM with talent, confidence and aplomb but more than that she contributes to excellence in the wider media sector through her contributions to many initiatives in talent and trust in media.”
Shortlisted alongside Karen for Media Leader Owner of the Year were Chief Commercial Officer of Hearst UK Jane Wolfson, Founder and CEO of Alight Media Matthew Dearden, and Chief Revenue Officer at Channel 4 Verica Djurdjevic.
DCM was also shortlisted for the awards of Media Owner of the Year, Leadership Team of the Year and the Talent Excellence Award. The competition was extremely tough, and these awards were given to Channel 4 / 4Sales (media Owner of the Year) and Zenith UK (Leadership Team of the Year and Talent Excellence Award).
Regional Sales Director Rachael Cochrane was also shortlisted for Future Media Leader of the Year, the award for which was given to Louise Twycross-Lewis, Head of Insight at PHD.
The Judges Special Choice Award was given posthumously to Jeremy Bullmore for his massive contribution to the advertising industry.
