DCM Live From The Empire BIG SCREEN

This weekend DCM were lucky enough to attend Empire's BIG SCREEN at London's O2 arena.

The event saw all the major distributors including Sony, Warner Bros and Paramount showcasing previews, trailer and behind-the-scenes footage of their upcoming releases.

Quarter 4 in 2012 looks set to be a period for huge releases drawing in massive amounts of cinemagoers.

Below we outline the releases that caught our eye as potential box office stars.

 

 

Happy Feet 2 3D Following on from the hugely popular family animation Happy Feet, Happy Feet 2 3D lands this December and sees Mumble the penguin helping his son Erik, who is reluctant to dance. The latest 3D installment is set to take an estimated £15M at the box office. Read more...

Arthur Christmas Coming to UK cinema screens on 11 November 2011, Arthur Christmas sets out to answer the age-old question - 'So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?'. The answer is much more complex than you think and involves a ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. Screenplay by Peter Baynham, responsible for Bruno, Borat and Arthur, this funny family film is expected to attract an estimated 1.2M to the cinema this Quarter 4. Read more...

Puss In Boots 3D We all fell in love with Puss In Boots in Shrek, now we see the story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends. Staring Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis, Puss In Boots appears in stunning 3D and is set to please the whole family when it is released in December. Read more...

Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game Of Shadows Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are back with their famous chemistry which, as Guy Ritchie revealed at the Empire BIG SCREEN, was a lot of the reason for the production of a second Sherlock Holmes. We saw behind the scenes footage from this future blockbuster and it's really nice to see Hollywood budgets being spent on a British production. You also get to see Stephen Fry with his kit off! Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Estimated to take a whopping  £30M in the UK box office, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are back for the penultimate in the Twilight franchise. With a raunchier angle to the previous films, this Twilight is set to continue the trend of attracting a more mature female audience. According to CAA Film Monitor data based on Twilight New Moon's figures, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is likely to attract a bigger female audience than Sex And The City 2 when it's released this November.
