The 57th BFI London Film Festival, in partnership with American Express®, kicks off next week on Wednesday 9 October with the European Premiere of Captain Philips.
Digital Cinema Media is proud to once again be the media partner of the annual event, and is looking forward to supporting and participating in one of the most impressive festivals to date. The festival will run from 9-20 October 2013, showcasing the best of world cinema and championing creativity, originality, vision and imagination, with screenings at venues all across the capital.
The rich and diverse programme of international films and events from both established and upcoming talent over the 12 day celebration of cinema includes 22 World Premieres, 16 International Premieres, 29 European Premieres and 20 Archive films. There will also be screenings of 134 live action and animated shorts and a stellar line-up of directors, cast and crew are expected to take part in career interviews, master classes and other special events.
The Festival programme will be organised into focused categories around the themes of Love, Debate, Dare, Laugh, Thrill, Cult, Journey, Sonic and Family, an approach designed to help festivalgoers find the films that mean the most to them and to open up entry points for new audiences.

Winners will be given the chance to walk the red carpet before being seated to an exclusive screening of Saving Mr. Banks, and will then be granted access to the exclusive Gala after-party.
Starring Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Colin Firth, the film tells the true story of Mary Poppin's arduous but exciting journey to the big screen.
