It gives us enormous pleasure to introduce you to the Woodville Paul Greengrass Cinema in Gravesend, Kent.

This cinema is now officially my closest independent site, so I’ll be down there regularly. I’m going to pop and see Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie, to see what all the fuss is about.

“To partner with DCM to further enhance our cinema experience is both very exciting and good business sense,” says Neil Chandler, General Manager at The Woodville. “DCM brings its unique experience of the market place to our new venue and is paying us for the privilege.”

The cinema is now an integral part of the local Civic Centre main auditorium. This means, as well as hosting dance schools and local shows (one of my daughters sang in the Choir Choral Festival only last month), the cinema is now a main offering within the site.

In the last twelve months, the Woodville also announced that legendary film director Paul Greengrass has lent his name to what has become Gravesend's main cinema. Paul was a pupil at the local Gravesend Grammar School. The cinema even managed to secure a great Q&A session with him following the release of Captain Phillips last year.

The Woodville also offers a wide variety of films from all over the world including great British classics. The Inbetweeners was another great success story, as another local boy Damon Beesley (writer of the Inbetweeners series and 2011 movie) also conducted a Q&A with the cast, which they’re hoping they’ll repeat later in the year with The Inbetweeners 2.

On top of this the cinema has just undergone a very impressive refurbishment and conducted some fantastic local marketing to drive admissions.

This site makes a fantastic edition to DCM’s portfolio for many reasons. Not least, their forward thinking marketing, including initiatives such as a partnership with the town’s railway station and brochures distributed to local business, as well as billboards. A great marketing job. I even saw a petrol pump dispenser promoting the cinema only last night.
