Digital Cinema Media was proud host to a preview screening of Chef, a film that offers innumerable pleasures, both comedic and gastronomic, at the brand new Ham Yard Hotel, Soho, last month.

With cubanos and Cuban beer served from DCM’s very own street food van, the night got off to a great start.

Prior to the film, the ad-reel featured a live-ad for the charity One For the Boys which was kept secret to the audience and came as a surprise to everyone in the auditorium when Samuel L Jackson began to be heckled by an annoying audience member.

Even more surprising was when Samuel L Jackson started interacting with the man and eventually put him in his place to a round of applause from everyone in attendance.

The live ad was created specifically for the DCM Tuesdays event in an attempt to raise awareness around male cancers and the general avoidance men have to being checked out regularly. The full campaign launches nationwide later this month. To view the video of the live ad, click here. Please note: The video does contain strong language and is not suitable for children.

As for the film, the script is witty and it was great to see Jon Favreau in a leading man role. The supporting cast is great too, with Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and a scene-stealing Robert Downey Jr.

However they are almost all upstaged by the food. Rarely has food and the cooking process been captured so beautifully on film.

The next DCM Tuesdays tickets will go live next week so keep an eye out for it and we hope to see you there!
