This year Deaffest, the UK's leading Deaf Film and Arts Festival, will be returning to Wolverhampton to celebrate its 10th Anniversary with its biggest and best festival to date. Running from Thursday 14 May to Sunday 17 May 2015, the festival will celebrate and showcase the talent of deaf filmmakers and artists from all over the world.

Deaffest was first held at the Light House in December 2006 with the purpose to provide deaf filmmakers with an opportunity to be recognised for their talents, to show their work and be supported in achieving their aspirations. Over the years, Deaffest’s vibrant programme of films and events have expanded with the introduction of the annual Young Deaffest competition, the biennial Film Gala Awards and the Ben Steiner Film Bursary.

Deaffest brings media artists together and encourages networking and interaction between filmmakers, actors, media experts and film buffs. It has quickly gained a reputation in the UK and was later recognised internationally, with thanks to the attendance of well-known celebrities such as, Matt Littler, Darren Jeffries and Rachel Shenton, also high profiled guests of honour, such as Clive Mason, Nikki Stratton, Marilyn Willrich and David de Keyzer.

To mark 10 incredible years, Deaffest will have an action packed weekend full of special guests, screenings and events from world-renowned filmmakers and artists, and many more surprises.
