Animated comedy Despicable Me, voiced by Steve Carell, Russell Brand and Julie Andrews, took the top spot in the UK Box Office over the weekend taking £3.6m in ticket sales. The first 3D animated movie from Universal Pictures follows Gru, a bumbling villain with plans to steal the moon until three orphan girls enter his life.
The Social Network, which tells the story of how Facebook began, took second place with takings of £2.5m over 394 screens in the UK.
