Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has announced that Jonathan Durden, Co-Founder of media agency PHD (as the D), has been engaged by the company as its new Strategic Advisor.

After co-founding the £10bn media network, he left in 2007 to become a partner at advertising agency, Miles Calcraft (now Lucky Generals), and Creative Director of Havas Media. He then went on to become a partner with PR guru, Mark Borkowski, in 2011 and since 2014 has been Co-Founder of Below the Belt Grooming, providing intimate products specifically designed for men. In 2015 he became a board adviser to the Ladbible group.

In his new role at DCM, Durden will work closely with CEO Karen Stacey and Sales Director Davina Barker to drive long-term growth by fostering creativity, developing strategic partnerships and strengthening the company’s planning offering.

“At DCM we are continually seeking to broaden our knowledge, our partners and our strategic offering, so I’m delighted that we can benefit from Jonathan’s extensive experience and visionary thinking within the business,” says Stacey. “Having the counsel of Jonathan, along with our Chairman Nigel Sharrocks, will help us further grow our medium after a phenomenal 2015, with the momentum continuing into 2016.”

Durden’s appointment further strengthens the DCM team following the promotion of Davina Barker to Sales Director earlier this month, the appointment of David Hipkiss to Commercial and Trading Director last year and the recent restructure of the Sales team, with four team members promoted to the new role of Business Director.

“Cinema is the last bastion of big brand advertising,” Durden adds. “People pay to appreciate all content without interruption. I love this chance to promote such a powerful message alongside Karen's team.”
