Advertising Week Europe 2018 has been taking place in London at Picturehouse Central this week, with delegates already making the most of daytime seminars and workshops that feature some of the industry’s brightest minds, as well as attending organized networking and world-class entertainment events.

As a founding partner of the festival for the sixth consecutive year, Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has been taking part again with a series of events throughout the week.

Our CEO, Karen Stacey, participated in Monday's European Leadership Roundtable alongside James Wildman CEO & President, Hearst; Stuart Flint VP, EMEA, Oath and James Brown Managing Director, EMEA, Rubicon Project.

The panel discussed this rapidly evolving landscape, as well as the timeless values of creativity, leadership skills, talent development and big ideas.

Karen argued that the very term "millennial" prevented leaders from understanding young people entering their businesses.

"I hate labels, because I think it makes young people end up becoming those labels. They are just young people; the motivations about good leadership is still the same. It feels like we're making an excuse, because we can't understand it, rather than leading people in the right way," Karen said.

She concurred: "The hard thing about everything being done through tech, I learned from other people and the conversations around me. I don't know how we make sure that happens if everyone is emailing and sitting with headphones in. That is one of my worries."
