The Film Content Protection Agency (FCPA) has launched a new “Spring Into Action” campaign, requesting continued vigilance from cinema staff to prevent illegal recording in cinemas.
The campaign was launched on 25 April and exits in collaboration with the already existing online quiz. The quiz offers a £500 quarterly prize, with the new 8-week campaign offering additional fortnightly prizes of £100 vouchers.
Winners will be selected from staff who successfully participate in the quiz between 25 April and 21 June 2019. The quiz is available here http://www.launchingfilms.com/filmcontentprotectionagency/fcpa-quiz-page.
The FCPA commented: “As we look forward to a particularly attractive line-up of forthcoming film releases, this inevitably brings an increased vulnerability and risk of film-theft. We therefore ask for continued high levels of vigilance and awareness to help deter copyright theft and infringement, and to keep the films and industry safe.”
Staff are encouraged to:
- Remain vigilant – especially for screenings of vulnerable films (subject of VRAs)
- Use night vision goggles /devices to enhance screen checks and act as a visible deterrent.
- Report any proven or suspected illegal recording activity to their managers
