A highly regarded and anticipated event in the UK’s film calendar, Glasgow Film Festival has grown greatly in visibility and significance in recent years and has leapt into the top three film festivals in the UK. From just 6,000 attendances at its first outing in 2005 to over 43,000 attendances in 2020, the Festival continues to grow and develop its international reputation.
Glasgow Film Festival has a long tradition of championing new talent and ensuring that the very best films are given a platform in the public programme. The Festival’s Industry Conference attracts hundreds of young creatives, who come to forge connections, share fresh new thinking, and discover and nurture the filmmakers of tomorrow.
The first titles for the 2023 Glasgow Film Festival have recently been announced. They include a focus on a new generation of Spanish filmmakers, and a showcase of films featuring women who take charge of their lives, seeking adventure, freedom and self-discovery.
