Thursday saw the launch of the most anticipated film of the year, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2. The box office figures hit magical highs with EDI data showing an enormous £23.8m scooped in its first three days! Not only is this the biggest three-day opening for the Harry Potter franchise, its the biggest UK opening weekend of all time!
The typically British franchise has also smashed the top opening weekend record in the US with $169.2m, beating The Dark Knight's $158.4m. It took the biggest opening day on record with $92.1m.

With the franchise now sadly coming to an end, the market is open for the next epic film series. With an estimated box office of £25M**, an all star British cast and two film sequels already in the pipe line, The Adventures Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn looks set to fill the void.
