Lynn’s Majestic Cinema has jumped straight into the 21st century by launching an app for smart phones and recording regular podcasts for its customers.
Manager Tom Cundy said: “Today’s technology is something of a revolution, especially when it comes to social media platforms, that have transformed the way people and businesses work. Even dependents make the most of these inventive techniques, with the Majestic Cinema following suit with the launch of our new app.
“It’s something exciting and a new way for us to connect with our customers. The best thing about the Majestic Cinema mobile app is that it is free to download on all Android and iPhone models, with plenty of perks.”
Those who download the app will be the first to know up-to-date film times of what is on at the Majestic, a recent addition to the DCM family, with individual links to each showing allowing you to book tickets directly for upcoming films.
There is a ‘coming soon’ tab highlighting what you should expect to see at the Majestic, which include films, live shows and all the extra cinema experiences that are available, such as the extra One Direction movie screening. Tom added: “Alongside this there is a film news feed that runs effortlessly, bringing you all the movie news across the Globe. These are just a few reasons to download the free app.
“So far it has been well received and the downloads keep coming.
“It’s only early stages but already a few hundred people have downloaded.”
The Majestic has also been using Facebook to publicise their films and offer a personal service to their customers.
Tom said: “This platform has really thrived, giving us that opportunity to become more personal to you, our customers.
“We are currently just shy of 6,000 likes, which is a massive achievement in itself – so if you haven’t ‘liked’ us yet on Facebook, lets get that number beyond 6,000!”
Another innovation the team at the cinema are trying out is recording the Majestic Cinema podcast available through the website.
Tom said: “The idea behind this was simple – to engage with our customers on a vocal level to help better explain certain things, as well as keeping everyone in the loop with what’s happening at the Majestic.
“This is a way for us to give a bit more of a candid view of the films coming to our cinema – we can be more relaxed and informal with our listeners than we are in the newsletter.”
So far the team has only launched a couple of podcasts, but they plan to keep uploading the voice of the Majestic which can be found by clicking on the Majestic Podcast logo on the website.
Tom said: “Don’t be shy to comment or ask us a question for the next recording, so give it a listen. To sum up: Download, Like and Listen!”
