King's Speech takes £4M

The King's Speech

The King's Speech grossed an amazing £4.4m in its second weekend, up +25% on its opening weekend. The royal drama’s gross to date now stands at £10.8m in the UK, and shows no signs of slowing down.

The Brit-film has now surpassed P.S. I Love You as the highest grossing film distributed by Momentum Pictures. According to IndieLondon.co.uk the incredible performance prompted Xavier Marchand, managing director of [UK distributor] Momentum Pictures, to comment:  “We are blown away by the second weekend’s box office for The King’s Speech. Feedback from the cinemas suggests repeat viewing and a broadening of the audiences towards students and teens. We’re still getting really positive reactions from cinemas and fans across the UK. The King’s Speech is a British crowd pleaser.”
