After what’s set to be one of the biggest summers in history, you’d think things would calm down a bit, but September features a whole range of films for all audiences. There’s the return of an all-time classic sci-fi, a prestige British caper, a terrifying horror and an intriguing crime drama.

The Predator

Shane Black is something of a legend. As an actor he was the first person to be killed by the alien in the original Predator, as a writer he created the Lethal Weapon series and as a director he made one of the best Marvel films, Iron Man 3. His next film is a sequel to one of the greatest sci-fi films of all time. When the universe's most lethal hunters return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

The King Of Thieves

This classy British crime drama has an incredible line-up of British talent behind and in front of the camera. Based on the true-life story of the Hatton Garden robbery, a crew of retired crooks pull off a major heist in London's jewellery district. As well as the stellar cast, the film is directed by the Oscar-winning James Marsh (The Theory Of Everything, Man On Wire).

The Nun

The Conjuring 2 is one of the most successful horror films in history and the terrifying demonic nun from the film gets a whole spin-off film in September. A priest named Father Burke is sent to Romania to investigate the mysterious death of a nun. If it’s half as scary as The Conjuring series it’s going to be a big hit.

A Simple Favour

Paul Feig has made some of the funniest comedies this century, including Bridesmaids, The Heat and Spy. He turns his attention to this intriguing crime drama in September which centres around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily's (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.
