Suburban terror gripped the Box Office over the weekend as Paranormal Activity 2 went straight to No. 1. The sequel, about a young couple coping with a potentially evil spirit in their home, made £3.8 m in the UK in its debut weekend. This beats the first instalment of the low-budget horror which grossed £3.6m last year.
In the US, the film also dominated the weekend business, knocking Jackass 3D from the top spot and grossing a massive $41.5m. This is the highest grossing opening weekend of all time for a supernatural horror movie, beating The Grudge's $39.1m in 2004.
