Sci-fi comedy Paul hit UK screens this week, grossing a massive £5.5m (including previews) in its opening weekend. Starring British comedy duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) as two nerds struggling to help one little green man, the film follows them on a road trip that takes them to America's UFO heartland.
The third instalment of the Big Momma's House franchise opened to £1.4m (including previews) and American teen sensation Justin Bieber made a splash this weekend with his 3D documentary Never Say Never grossing £821K across 388 cinemas.
Meanwhile, the BAFTA and Oscar-nominated The King's Speech is still doing extremely well, with its income to date hitting £37.1m. Overall, the top 15 titles this weekend grossed a massive £18.7m, up 38% on the top 15 last year.
