Digital Cinema Media (DCM) and the Cinema Exhibitor’s Association (CEA) are two of the sponsors of this year’s Screen Awards, which are currently open for entries. Excellence amongst exhibitors both large and small will be recognised with a new ‘Exhibitor of the Year’ award, sponsored by the CEA, while DCM will celebrate brands that have aligned themselves with film. There is still time to enter your cinemas as entries are accepted until 26 July. So if you’d like to celebrate your success with the rest of the screen industry, here is all that you need to know.

Now in its fourth year and fast becoming the annual event for all those involved in film marketing and distribution, the Screen Marketing & Distribution Awards honour the outstanding work of the UK film industry’s most unsung art forms.

There are 22 awards to be won - including six new categories this year. Digital Cinema Media is sponsoring the Brand Partnership of the Year category. The inclusion of this new category aims to further acknowledge the significance of brand's involvement with film and ensure every area of the industry is celebrated.

Films and brands are tied together, not just with product placement on screen but increasingly through lucrative brand partnerships. This new category will recognize top brand-film partnerships and entries will be judged on how the brand and film both benefited from the partnership and how audiences were involved in compelling ways. The category is also open for partnerships that aren't single title specific, such as a year-round promotion between a brand and exhibitor.

“The Screen Awards bring together representatives of exhibition, distribution and screen advertising to recognise and celebrate the best of the best in our industry,” says CEA Chief Executive, Phil Clapp. “This year, for the first time, the CEA has sponsored an 'Exhibitor of the Year' award, split into two categories, one for the circuits and one for smaller operators. In both cases, this will be about more than box office or admissions. It will also be about using innovation and creativity to reach out to and engage audiences. We hope as many exhibitors as possible will put themselves forward for consideration.”
