Filmed in Canada, the new Sony ad, made by directors Leila and Damien de Blinkk with creative agency adam&eveDDB, is shot in 4K – ultra high-definition resolution – and sets out to capture the natural phenomenon and beauty of blown bubbles freezing as they hit icy temperatures.
The ad launched in cinemas on 7 November, going live with the most anticipated film of the year, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
Gildas Pelliet, Head of Marketing at Sony Europe, said: “These new films from Sony follow a long line of iconic ad for the brand. This time we wanted to create something beautiful that truly reflects the experience of watching a Sony 4K Ultra HD TV – being able to put these fleeting moments of natural beauty on film felt like a fitting successor to all we’ve done before.”
The ad is running across ODEON, Cineworld and VUE sites, as well a number of independent cinemas. Digital Cinema Media (DCM) also represents 661 4K screens.
