A street party outside one of London's most famous cinemas, Brixton Ritzy, took place on Monday evening (11 January) to celebrate the life of David Bowie, who died last weekend at the age of 69, after an 18 month battle with cancer. Bowie, who was born in Brixton, was a legendary musician and performer and also starred in a number of iconic films, including Labyrinth and The Man Who Fell To Earth.
Bowie also worked with some of the most famous directors of the last 40 years, including Martin Scorsese in The Last Temptation Of Christ, Tony Scott in The Hunger and David Lynch in Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me. More recently, he filmed scene stealing cameos in Christopher Nolan's The Prestige and Ben Stiller's Zoolander.
