Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film is coming to UK cinemas, screening in selected theatres from Friday 13 October.
The Eras Tour concert film is on track to be the highest grossing tour to ever play the big screen.
In the US, the film made $65m in presales alone, and a reported $37m on the first day of ticket presales. 250 IMAX screens sold out in North America in a single day, and the film’s opening weekend is projected to gross over $100m in the US alone, making it the biggest concert film ever.
The huge popularity of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film is reflected in a reaction from Hollywood, with films such as The Exorcist: Believer and Dumb Money having changed release dates to distance themselves from the concert screening.
As one of the biggest pop stars of the past two decades, the impact and influence of Taylor Swift on audiences cannot be underestimated. The singer secured her 10th number one album earlier this year with Speak Now (Taylor's Version), and has become the first artist in 59 years to have six studio albums in the UK Top 20.
According to a YouGov Ratings survey, Taylor Swift is the 10th most popular contemporary singer in the UK, with 96% of UK citizens having heard of her. 55% of UK citizens consider themselves fans of Taylor Swift, with a fairly equal split of men and women.
We’re predicting Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film to achieve 1.2m admissions across its run. Don’t miss this chance to be part of the next big cultural moment of 2023.
