Warner Bros. has announced its new release strategy for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. In an official statement the studio said: “Today, Warner Bros. announced that Tenet will open in over 70 countries worldwide starting on 26 August. Major territories will include the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia and Spain.
The new Tenet release plan expands on a statement Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich issued on 20 July saying the studio would not be giving the Nolan tentpole a “traditional global day-and-date release.”
Following a soft launch opening according to government guidelines on 4 July, a large scale reopening of UK cinemas is due from this weekend (31 July) in advance of the Tenet release.
