Testosterone Fuelled Action Movies

The final quarter of the year is full of testosterone fuelled movies. With many Action epics scheduled for release in this period this is an ideal time to reach the traditionally hard to target young male audience in the 15-24 age bracket.

LOOPER

Releasing September 28 is Looper, starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Looper is a mind bending time travel epic that pits Joseph Gordon-Levitt against his older self (Bruce Willis) in a race to close the loop by killing himself to stop the mob doing it for him. This movie is expected to take £6m at the box office with 1.1m admissions.

TAKEN 2

Taken 2 is the follow up to the surprise hit Taken, starring Liam Neeson as Brian Mills, the man with a very particular set of skills. This time the action moves to Istanbul as the vengeful father of one of the men killed by Neeson in the first instalment is hell bent on exacting “justice” on our antagonist. The prediction for Taken 2’s box office is 8m and the movie is in cinemas from October 5.

JACK REACHER

The big screen adaption of the hugely popular Lee Childs novel, Jack Reacher, starring Tom Cruise thunders on to screen on December 28. Previous years have shown that this week in December is one of the top 5 weeks for cinema admissions, which bodes well for this hard-boiled action packed thriller. Predicted box office for this movie is very healthy, at £8m.
