The British Independent Film Awards announce online ceremony

One of the UK’s most exciting awards bodies have just announced the dates of their online ceremony for their delayed 2020 awards. The British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) which highlight the year’s best British and international films and filmmakers, announced their nominations on 9 December and the winners of the nine craft categories were announced on 25 January. The remaining winners will be announced in a ceremony on Thursday 18 February, hosted by Tom Felton.

The ceremony will be announced during a 45 minute programme on the BIFA Facebook page with additional live elements on the host’s Instagram page. Alongside Tom Felton will be a star-studded array of special guests from across the British and international film world. There will also be live chats with jurors and famous film fans about this year’s outstanding nominees.

BIFA have also announced a podcast entitled In Reel Lives: The BIFA Podcast. Hosted by Michael Leader (Truth and Movies) and Rhianna Dhillon (BBC 6 Music) the podcast will feature some of the biggest names in British film currently being celebrated by BIFA and will be over five episodes.
