November 8 marks 15 years since The Elgiva Theatre and Cinema was officially reopened by the late Danny La Rue, after its transformation from The Elgiva Hall in 1988.
The establishment, which has been open since 1976, was rebuilt into the grand purpose-built theatre and digital cinema it is today having made way for an enlarged supermarket development nearby at the time.
Located within the scenic Chiltern Hills in the market town of Chesham, the 400 capacity theatre presents a wide-ranging programme featuring professional and amateur productions, an eclectic range of movies, exhibitions and musicals.
With all areas of the building available to hire, the venue has seen a number of weddings and private events take place at the picturesque site.
The building also hosts its own fully stocked bar and ‘Café Encore', offering visitors a wide selection of home cooked meals, snacks and sweet treats from breakfast through to lunch.
Owned, managed and funded by the Chesham Town Council, The Elgiva purchased and installed a state-of-the-art digital projector for its cinema earlier this year, enabling the screening of 3D films and the live-streaming of events across the globe.
With its cinema attendances hitting a record high in the first half of this year, The Elgiva continues to retain its acclaimed role within the community and Digital Cinema Media wishes it another fantastic 15 years of success.
