Following its premiere in New York last week at the United Nations headquarters, the ‘First Ever Global Cinema Ad’ was launched in over 30 countries, including the UK, on 25 September 2015 to utilise the power of cinema to engage the global cinemagoing audience.

The ad tells the story of the Global Goals campaign for Sustainable Development, founded by film director Richard Curtis. 193 world leaders are committing to 17 goals to achieve three extraordinary things in the next 15 years. End extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice and fix climate change.

The initiative has been led by Film Director, Richard Curtis and features world class animation from Wallace and Gromit creators, Aardman Animation, and creative led by legendary ad man, Sir John Hegarty, the 60 second film has a soundtrack which has been written and produced by Peter Gabriel.

Campaign Magazine ran a full-page feature in last week’s issue which looks into the detail of the campaign and quotes Sir John Hegarty. Find out more here.

As part of the campaign, cinemagoers will be able to interact with the ad via the Global Goals app, which has been created by CINIME. The app allows audiences to unlock content, which is exclusive to cinema, and share the Global Goals through their social media channels.

DCM’s CEO, Karen Stacey, Marketing and Insight Director, Zoe Jones and Head of Film, Tom Linay, are all showing support for their chosen goals. See their chosen goals below What are yours? Find out more and get involved at http://www.globalgoals.org/
