With the search on for a new Batman and talk of a Blackadder movie adaption, DCM Close Up looks at some of the film news hitting the headlines this week.
Who’s Next For Batman?
Now Christian Bale is out of the picture, the hunt is on for a new actor to take on the caped crusader’s role in the new Marvel movie that will bring Batman and Superman together in 2015. Henry Cavill is confirmed to return as Clark Kent following his debut in Man of Steel, however, it’s rumoured that producers are looking for a more mature star to play Bruce Wayne. Josh Brolin, Richard Armitage and Max Martin are some of the older names said to be in discussions for the role, while younger stars Ryan Gosling and Orlando Bloom also appear to be under consideration.

Blackadder Has A Cunning Plan For The Big Screen
Talks are underway to reunite the BlackAdder cast in a feature film based on the classic TV comedy, 30 years after the first series. Producer John Lloyd is in talks with original cast members Rowan Atkinson, Peter Robinson, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry to reprise their parts from the show which followed the Machiavellian BlackAdder through some of the most significant moments in British history. The new movie is believed to be set during World War II and will see BlackAdder captured by Germans leading to an escape from Colditz. BlackAdder was last seen in a specially produced edition for the millennium and was voted Britain’s second favourite comedy TV series ever (after Only Fools and Horses).
