On Wednesday 27 June, Digital Cinema Media (DCM) and Walpole, the official sector body for over 200 of the UK's finest luxury brands, hosted an exclusive 'Cinematic Storytelling' breakfast session at Picturehouse Central.
Cinema is the home of storytelling. For over 100 years the big screen has been the best place to tell the greatest stories. Cinemagoers set aside quality time to indulge their passion for film in an uncluttered media environment, while brands have an unrivalled opportunity to entertain and connect with them.
Walpole members were invited to join DCM for a morning of insights and best practice learnings around a range of topics including creative success stories, brand marketing strategies, AV market challenges, future trends and the power of cinema as a medium, which is fast becoming the amplification channel for digital campaigns for luxury brands.
Speakers on the morning included some of the best minds in the industry, including: Helen Brocklebank, CEO, Walpole; Arnaud Champenois, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Brand, Belmond Ltd. UK; Kevin Chesters, Chief Strategy Officer,Ogilvy UK; Jeremy Kolesar, Creative Business Director, DCM; Fiona Rushton, Director of Communications, Hermès; Karen Stacey, CEO, DCM; and Amelia Wrighton, Client Lead, DCM.
The event concluded with DCM’s very own Head of Film, Tom Linay, highlighting some of the best upcoming film content including Bohemian Rhapsody, Fantastic Beasts: the Crimes of Grindelwald and Mary Poppins Returns, as well as upcoming awards’ contenders Frist Man and Widows. He also looked ahead to 2019 which includes the next Bond film!
