One of the biggest stage musicals of all time becomes one of the biggest theatrical releases!
Wicked has soared to the top of the box office, delivering the biggest opening weekend of 2024 to date, surpassing Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2. Wicked’s debut also marks the biggest opening for a musical film, with audience review scores through the roof and an impressive 97% on Rotten Tomatoes!
In its opening weekend, Wicked has achieved:
- £13.7m at the UK & Ireland box office
- The biggest opening weekend of 2024 to date, with 1.2m DCM admissions
This musical hit is expected to continue attracting audiences throughout the holiday season, with 2.1m DCM admissions forecast to be delivered from Friday 29 November up until Christmas.
