Winners of the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards

The 2024 BAFTA Film Awards Ceremony took place last night, Sunday 18 February, at the Royal Festival Hall, hosted by David Tennant.

The big winner of the night was Oppenheimer, with seven wins including Best Film, Director for Christopher Nolan, Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, also nominated for Best Film, picked up five BAFTAs in total, with Emma Stone winning Best Actress for her performance as Bella Baxter.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph received the BAFTA for Supporting Actress for her role of Mary Lamb in The Holdovers, a film which was another nominee for Best Film. The Holdovers also received the BAFTA for Casting.

The Zone Of Interest was another notable winner of the night, winning three BAFTAs, for Outstanding British Film, Film Not In The English Language and Sound.

Anatomy of a Fall received the BAFTA for Original Screenplay and American Fiction received the BAFTA for Adapted Screenplay.

Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron received the BAFTA for Animated Film, Savanah Leaf’s Earth Mama won Outstanding Debut By A British Writer, and 20 Days In Mariupol won the BAFTA for Documentary.

How To Have Sex’s Mia Mckenna-Bruce received the EE BAFTA Rising Star award, film curator June Givanni was awarded Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, and actress and director Samantha Morton was presented with the BAFTA Fellowship award.
