Cinema owners Derek Hook, Raymond Hook and Dorothy Smith recently purchased the Ambleside Lodge in Ambleside, Cumbria. The trio are already the proud owners of Zeffirellis, an independent cinema, award winning restaurant and jazz bar also located in Ambleside.
Zeffirellis opened way back in 1980 in what was originally an old cinema. Now with the combination of the restaurant and cinema Zeffirellis has become one of the Lake District’s best loved venues in the area.
Ambleside Manor is now open to customers and offers just as much luxury and enjoyment as the cinema, with 16 en-suite double and twin rooms to choose from. The Manor is set over two acres of private grounds offering spectacular views of the beautiful Lake District countryside. The cinema is also located a short 5 minute walk away from the hotel.
